I didn't even know they had such good moving films by that time and these shots are fantastic. They should use this film to teach todays film directors (for tv especially) how to keep a camera still long enough to see whats in the lens and to prevent nausea in the person viewing the material.
This must be after the fire and all. I see artifacts of clean up that had to be put up at least days later.
The people are so well dressed and the moustacheod men in their derbys are so hot looking.
This is a landmark film!

i really like the slowness of the 360 degrees givs lots of time to take in the magnitude of the destruction. and also, a wonderful sence of the times. 103 years ago!!!!!

Very interesting and instructive!
The defects are forgivable in such an old movie.

More earthquake footage, but this time, by gum, they decided to you know, move the camera around! So we see more! Hoo-ray! The film is desperately slow though, especially in the beginning, where it¡¯s like the slowest 360 degree pan seen anywhere. But still, there are some charming bits in the film..Like that line.. Like that explosion, and also it appears that some parts of SF were left untouched from the fire. The rather unfortunate part of this reel is of course, is that it¡¯s wonky. The screen rolls all over the place man! Oh well, that¡¯s what you have to put up with history I suppose.
